(More customer reviews)I was looking for a way to organize my purses and came across this bizarre looking little item in Amazon's gouping of organizers. I have several purses and my idea when buying more than one was the hope that I would leave the house on a daily basis looking like a 1950's wife in my color coordinated outfits, shoes and purses. I was probably suffering from lack of sleep at that phase in my life. Even movies stars don't always make it out the door in color coordinated outfits. But, it was, and is a dream. So, now I am one step closer to my dream...a short step. I have removed my various purses from their hide outs and gotten them all together to meet one another in my closet. My closet gave a groan and made room for the batch of them after I made a trip to GoodWill to get rid of other excesses. So now they hang out together on this funny little hanger doo dad I found at Amazon. It is a sad day when you have to go looking for things to organize all the THINGS that you have, but that day has arrived and better organized and used, than hiding unforgotten in a cabinet somewhere. I even managed to get a color routine going with this little hook thing. The ligher colored pures are on the top and the darker on the bottom. Fortunately I stopped buying purses before I had so many I had to hang one on the Very Back Hook, so it still fits flat up again the closet back.. The closet itslelf is happy about that.
Now on to more basic things: This particulat widget is approximately 15 " long and 8 wide. It is Much Wider when things are hanging on it. It looks small and innocent when not full, but it can take up lots of space it is supposed to save. Also it is longer by the length of the longest item you hang on the bottom. It scrunches against other things on the sides, and would go to my hall closet to live except for its basic purpose at my house: coordinating purses whith shoes and clothing. Since shoes and clothing are in the closet, the handiest place for this is in the closet with them. For now that is its highest and best purpose.
It would take up less space and also be an excellent hanger if it held the following: belts, ties, jewelery, or any smaller item that you have too many of for the space you have.
It is hoped that someday, I will get past this coordinational effort of organizing my outerwear and get on with something more useful, but for the time being, I do this. Hope it was helpful in your own quest to be an organized person of the planet.
