(More customer reviews)I recently moved into a room with no closet so I needed a garment rack to hang clothes. Based partly on the manufacturer's claim that the rack will hold 200 lbs, I purchased the rack. When I received the rack, I quickly assembled it in less than 15 minutes as there are no tools needed. Afterwards, I put the following on the rack:
10 long-sleeved shirts
8 polo shirts
2 dress pants
8 ties
2 light jackets (not coats)
4 pairs of shoes on the bottom
I tried to put the clothes evenly so that all the heavy clothing was not on one end. The construction seemed sturdy enough although I did nothing extra during my assembly, i.e. use a hammer/mallet to connect the pieces. About two days after I assembled the rack, the rack randomly fell apart (I am writing this review right after the rack has fallen apart to inform others). This time, I used a hammer to make sure that the pieces fit together tightly. I'm not sure if the rack fell apart because of the quality/construction of the rack (the quality of the pieces seems decent) or because I needed to do something extra like use a hammer (although the instructions did not tell me to do so). If the rack falls apart again, I would have to conclude that the quality of the rack is shoddy and will return - I'll be sure to update my post if that happens. Otherwise, I still think that the rack deserves 3.5-4 stars given the price.
