(More customer reviews)I bought this for my 2 daughters, who share a room. It was very easy to put together. Once I got the shoes on it, it did lean quite a bit. But I tightened the bottom bolt with my electric screwdriver, and re-tightened each piece between the shoe-holders by hand. This seems to have fixed the leaning issue. The shoe holders revolve on their own, independent of the pieces in between. So, I don't forsee the pieces coming loose on a regular basis. However I can see how it could become loose if you got in the habit of turning it by the handle instead. Also, if there were more shoes on one side than the other, it will probably lean, too - that's just sort of the nature of the beast, I think. Overall it seems just fine.
The individual "hooks" (for lack of a better word) are a little close together. Someone with large or wide shoes - and most men's shoes - would not be able to use every one of them. (You could fit two shoes per 3 hooks.) My older daughter wears a size 4 or 5, and some of her shoe pairs are a little squished together, depending on the style. On the other hand, I easily fit my toddler's size 3 shoes on there, so the hooks are useful for varied sizes, and definitely not too large for kids' shoes.
